Baccarat Scammers Ordered to Repay
John Tran, one of several people accused of cheating during a game of high stakes baccarat please guilty last week in Orillia and was ordered to repay monies that were scammed from casinos.

Tran plead guilty to one count of cheating at play and a count of conspiracy to commit, which is an indictable offense. The sentence which includes time served required Tran to spend the time he's already spent in jail and pay back any monies he was caught pilfering, a total of $10,000. Additional, Tran will be supervised by the courts while on probation for the next 18 months.

Tran spent a total of 236 days in jail after being with 15 other alleged Baccarat cheaters arrested May 24th of last year. Efforts to shut down this particular cheating ring included cooperative efforts by the OPP, the FBI, Windsor police, and police from several states in America.

The total number of suspects involved in yet unknown, another 3 casino employees were arrested last week, bringing the count to 18.

According to police, the team skimmed more than $2 million from Casino Rama alone.
