Baccarat High Roller Runs Up Huge Debt at Casinos
Jupiter and Star City casinos are operated by TABCORP, a gaming group. TABCORP recently released information that one person has run up a bill of $11.5 million. The high roller has yet to pay his debt and has not been seen since the tab was run up. Elmer Funke Kupper of TABCORP commented during a briefing that it was just one person who ran up the large debt owed to the company. The person is well known to the casinos and has not been seen since. The money was used by the gambler last year but written off by the company during the first half of 2008.
TABCORP allows gamblers to cash checks but they do not advance credit players. Kupper said there are around 20 to 30 High rollers in the world and they cashed the check for one of $11.5 million and it bounced. Kupper also mentioned that most high rollers of their casinos seem to be Baccarat players so it is more than likely that the high roller who owes the massive amount was playing Baccarat. Kupper also mentioned that the Baccarat high rollers tend to play $100,000 to $300,000 a hand.
