Baccarat Dealer Admits to Cheating at Mohegan Sun
Forty year old Jesus Rodriguez of Groton has pled guilty to conspiracy this past week for his role in a cheating scheme that took place at various casinos across the United States and Canada. The cheating scheme took place at more than twelve casinos and the former card dealer worked at the Mohegan Sun. Rodriguez pled guilty to federal prosecutors on Thursday in New Haven. Police stated that in 2005 Rodriguez was employed as a card dealer at the Mohegan Sun and he helped a criminal organization which was based in San Diego, California. Rodriguez helped the organization steal more than $100,000 by cheating during mini-baccarat and blackjack games.
Rodriguez would go to jail for up to five years and have to pay a fine of up to $250,000. He will be sentenced in April 7th. Over thirty people have been charged in California as part of the investigation. Many of those arrested and charged have pled guilty.
